An amazing pet that is also the easiest to grow among all forms of livestock’s is what chickens are. Chickens are in fact birds that not just keep your daily egg supply going aptly, but are also creatures that have a lot other things to offer. Keeping chickens as pets in the backyards of the home has emerged as a newest trend among all people today.

Chicken coop a home for the chickens to keep them safe and protected and also to help them grow healthily and lay eggs regularly is something that requires looking into carefully before purchasing or even while constructing it by self.

Before buying a chicken coop or even while constructing it, you must ensure looking into each and every element carefully so as to ensure the birds live long and healthily. The first thing that is most important while making a chicken coop is the size that depends on many factors like the area of your backyard, the number of birds you will keep etc.

A chicken coop construction requires no degree in architecture, but an approach that will require your time, some basic tools, and construction materials and also creativity alongside a basic plan around which will lay all the other plan details.

Requiring some construction material in the form of sheets of thick plywood, wood, poles, windows, doors, some cartons that will act as nesting place, nails, bolts and of course YOU, that together will make a chicken coop exactly the way you want.

While making a chicken coop start from the base, then go upwards to erect walls from sheets of plywood’s that must be properly bolted, then comes the roof which should also be strong enough to protect the birds from the weather and other predator harm. Always make a coop that gives ample space for cleaning, for maintaining the coop which is clean and hygienic is often the biggest challenge its owner faces.

Always make a coop that is well ventilated to not just ensure a fresh air supply to the birds but also to let out the odor which may come from the waste or any such things. The chicken coop should also be weather protected; a place that keeps warm in the cold temperature and cold in the summer months should be constructed.

Proper lightning is also a must in the chicken coop to help the birds feel safe at night. Also, for the safety and protection of the chickens, the wire meshing should be strong and heightened enough to keep all potential threats away from the birds.

So, make a place that can help the birds live happily and safely.
